Types of Services:

Proofreading: this service means I will be your proofreader. I will correct spelling and grammatical errors, as well as usage of numbers, numerals etc.
Copy editing: this service means I will be your copy editor. I will correct syntax errors and revise your draft, focusing on how to improve your voice and story. I will provide suggestions on how to fill plot holes, how to improve the flow of dialogue etc.
Editorial assessment: this service means I will be your beta reader. I will provide an honest, specific feedback report which will include positives and 'negatives' about your manuscript, as well as advice on how to improve.

*A sensitivity reading is included in each service. This means I will always check for potentially harmful content e.g. ableism, racism, transphobia etc.

**Each service includes one full read-through.

Pricing?

Proofreading: £0.008 per word
Copyediting: £0.01 per word
Editorial assessment: 1-15,000 words (£15.00); 15,001-40,000 words (£35.00); 40,001-80,000 words (£55.00). If your story is above 80,000 words, then please contact me for a price estimate.

I am willing to negotiate prices. Additionally, if you would like to combine two or more services, please contact me to discuss the price.

What genres do I accept?

I specialise in the following genres: romance and erotica. This includes short stories to full-length novels.

I accept requests for any type of romance story, whether that would be contemporary, historical, erotic, suspense etc.

I also accept requests for any erotic story, including short smutty stories. There is no judgement here; therefore, you do not have to worry about any 'taboo' kinks or potential trigger warnings your story may include as long as the participating characters are aged 18 and above.

I am happy to proofread and/or edit related genres like fantasy novels with romantic subplots or proofread dissertations about the romance/erotica genre. Please message me for details.

Do I offer samples?

Yes. I offer a free sample of my work for the proofreading and editing services but not for editorial assessments.

How do I work?

I work on Word. I use the 'Track Changes' method to show you my corrections. I then add comments to justify why I have made certain changes and to add suggestions. If applicable, at the start of the given document, I give overall feedback on the draft.

For an editorial assessment, I create specific feedback sheets using Word.

Do I use a style guide and, if so, which one?

I do. I use style guides available online to ensure consistency in your work.
